Verify a Single Email Address
💡 Quick Answer
Before following up with a new lead, it helps to know their email address actually works. One Good Card's built-in Email Verification tool checks this in seconds, right from the contact record, so you're not sending into a dead inbox.
How to Verify a Single Email Address
- Log in to your One Good Card dashboard.
- Go to Contact Manager.
- Open the contact whose email you want to verify.
- Click Edit
- Click Verify Email next to their email address.
- Wait a few seconds for the check to complete.
- View the result directly on the contact record.
Understanding the Result
Each verification returns one of four outcomes:
- Deliverable: the email passed all checks and is likely able to receive messages
- Risky: the address may still receive email but has traits like catch-all, disposable, or role-based that reduce certainty
- Undeliverable: the address failed verification and should not be used
- Unknown: the mail server did not give a reliable response, no credit is used in this case
Alongside the result, you'll also see a deliverability score from 0 to 100 and a breakdown of individual checks: valid format, mail server found, mailbox exists, and business domain.
✨ Pro Tips:
- Verify a lead's email as soon as it comes in, before you spend time drafting a follow-up.
- If a result comes back Risky, don't discard the contact automatically. Cross-check the address manually or reach out through another channel first.
- Re-verify older contacts periodically. Email addresses can become inactive over time even if they were valid when first added.
